Two-day trip to the stone villages, gorges and rivers of Tzoumerka (Athamanika mountains). Day 1 (Saturday 19/12): coach leaves Athens at 06:30 from Syntagma (10 Filellinon St), with a stop at Palataki at 06:50, to Frasta near the Plaka bridge; first hike across the Plaka bridge over the Arachthos to the Mouchoustiou monastery and the chapel of Agios Vasileios: 8 km, +360 m, about 3.5 hours, easy. Night at the Gefyri Plakas 3* hotel in Frasta, double rooms with breakfast. Day 2 (Sunday 20/12): from Kalarrytes along cobbled paths through the gorge to Syrrako and on to the Kouiasa mills, with running water, small waterfalls and pools: 10 km, +200 m / -500 m, about 4 hours, grade 2-moderate; then a visit to the Kipina monastery built into the rock and a meal at a tavern in Pramanta. Back in Athens around 22:00. You need to manage 3.5-4 hours on mountain paths with ups and downs; if you have no hiking experience, contact the organizer first. €195 per person (€100 deposit option); group of up to 35.
