Hike on a new trail of Parnassos that opened in 2026, from Ano Polydrosos down to Polydrosos: 8 km, 3–3.5 hours including stops, point to point, +100/-500 m, mostly downhill. Grade: Easy, suitable for all hikers. Terrain: rocky path, trodden path, forest road and asphalt. The route stops at the chapel of Panagia tis Kyrgias near Ano Polydrosos, then follows the new trail through vegetation, beside streams and over small bridges to the Mantamia area. On the way: old watermills and water-powered installations, the ruins of the old hydroelectric plant that powered the «Lefkos Anthrax» factory in Souvala and lit the village houses, and a water-powered fulling mill once used to wash woollen clothes (these installations date from the 1930s to the 1960s). Above the gorge stands the medieval Tower of Mantamia. The trail continues through a green ravine with plane trees, rocks and running water to the Mantamia waterfall, which forms a small natural pool; a natural opening in the trunk of a large tree frames the waterfall like a window. From there the descent continues to Polydrosos. Trip leader: Aris Annis. Coach departure 07:00, return 19:30; the exact meeting and return times are set with the trip programme. The €38 includes coach transport, certified mountain guides (graduates, members of ΕΣΑΒ, professionally certified by ΕΟΠΠΕΠ) who are also certified in first aid and CPR; the group's professional equipment (group first-aid kits, AED defibrillator, UHF/VHF radios, assisting ropes, a stretcher, and trekking poles to lend); civil liability insurance; photo coverage; a 4K short film uploaded to the organizer's YouTube channel; and organization costs and VAT. Not included: meals and anything not in the programme. Equipment: hiking shoes, hiking clothes, trekking poles (optional), water and snacks, an isotonic drink. Children over 10 can join; dogs are allowed.
