2nd Speedyard, an official Big's Backyard Ultra affiliated race, so results count in the world rankings. The first edition in 2026 had 77 runners and lasted 29 hours (winner Nikos Sfitis, 29 laps / 194.5 km; assist Ilias Grozos, 28 laps). A new 6.706 km lap starts every hour on the hour; warnings at 3, 2 and 1 minute, everyone starts together, and anyone not at the start in time is out. You have up to 60 minutes to finish each lap and be back for the next start. The race goes on until one runner completes one extra lap alone; if nobody does, there is no winner and everyone else is DNF. The loop starts and finishes at the 69 Speedway kart track in Kallifyto, Drama: 67 m climbing per lap, 50% mountain trail and 50% dirt road with about 150 m of asphalt. The direction changes every lap (odd laps anticlockwise with yellow markings, even laps clockwise with red), with reflective markings both ways and two checkpoints; cutting the course means disqualification. No crew, pacers or poles on the course. Bib visible on the front at all times. Mandatory for night laps: head torch, spare batteries and a survival blanket. The only aid station is at the start/finish, and every runner needs their own cup or bottle. Food by lap: laps 1-4 nuts, bananas, Coca-Cola, water and isotonic (all race long); 5-10 plus pasta, and a cold beer after lap 7; 10+ pizza; lap 15 homemade soup (trahanas or fides); lap 22 coffee; lap 24 breakfast (eggs and bacon or bougatsa); lap 30 a meal of your choice from a set menu. Coffee and food can be ordered at any time for runners and crew. Team Endurance Trophy for teams of at least 4 members: the team with the most combined laps wins. Programme: Friday 18 June 18:00-21:00 race office open at the kart track, set up your space, tent or camper van; Saturday 19 June race office from 06:00 until 07:45, start 08:00. Camping for runners, crews and visitors with tents and camper vans on the track grounds, 18-20 June, in spots set by the organizers (not a full tourist campsite); parking available. Included: food and drink, rest and changing areas, toilets, shade gazebos, tables and chairs, medical support and race photos.
