Autumn day hike on Mount Parnon, starting from the village of Vamvakou (about 900 m altitude) and climbing to the mountain refuge at 1,420 m. Loop route: Vamvakou – Parnon refuge – Loggon forest – Vamvakou; the organizer gives about 13 km, +500 m ascent, about 5 hours of walking and grade Α+. The path climbs steadily through the mountain forest for about two hours to the refuge, where there is a rest stop. The return first follows the same route, then another path through the Loggon forest; a stop at the cave monastery of Agia Kyriaki is optional and will be agreed on the day. The ascent is a continuous uphill, so good physical condition and proper hiking gear are required. After the hike the coach goes to Karyes for food and relaxation before returning to Athens. Coach departure from Vari (INTERSPORT) at 06:00, with the usual pick-ups (Voula, Glyfada, Poseidonos, Syngrou, Syntagma, Omonia, Media Markt, Palataki, Elefsina); the times of the intermediate stops and the return are not final yet. Included: coach transport, experienced guides, insurance and organisation, all taxes; not included: meals/dinner, personal expenses, entrance fees, equipment, anything not in the programme. Required gear: hiking boots, light snack, 1–1.5 litres of water, windproof/waterproof jacket and fleece, hat and sunscreen, hiking poles, personal medicines. The fee is €30 for members of the Taxideftes Club; families can ask for an offer. Payment must accompany the registration form, by bank deposit, IRIS or card through Eurobank live pay (card payments +2%). Cancellation by the participant more than 5 days before: the money can be used by the same person for another outing within 6 months; less than 4 days before: the money is lost; no loss if you find a replacement.
