Sunday hike of about 12 km, ±380 m and around 5 hours in the heart of Parnitha, mostly on shady paths through dense fir forest. Points of interest: the chapels of Agios Petros and Agios Georgios, the historic Loimiko well and the Loimiko tower, a Hellenistic fort of 267-261 BC that was part of the Athenian defences, used to train new recruits and watch over the area. Stop at the Loimiko well and a snack break at the small shelter next to Agios Georgios; with luck, deer or wild goats along the way. Suitable for beginners in very good physical shape. Times are indicative (meet 11:00, back about 16:00); the exact meeting point in Parnitha is emailed to participants 1-2 days before (check spam). Transport to the meeting point is not included. Included: mountain guides (mountain school graduates) with first-aid training, first-aid kit, civil liability insurance, guides' expenses, photos and 24% VAT.
