Out-and-back autumn hike on the eastern side of Parnassos, starting and ending in Amfikleia (the old Dadi). Route: Amfikleia – Keramidi stream – Agia Ierousalim – Varsamos gorge – Amfikleia; the organizer gives about 7 km, 3–4 hours, about +400 m / -400 m and difficulty grade «1 – route for hikers». From the south-eastern edge of Amfikleia the trail enters the Keramidi gorge and climbs through fir forest to Agia Ierousalim («Agiarsali» to the locals), a small church inside a large cave at about 900 m, at the entrance of the Varsamos gorge, which tradition links with crusader knights; above it is a second cave, «the grandfather's cell». The walk continues to the springs of Agios Nikolaos, with a view over the Varsamos gorge, for a stop before returning on the same path to Amfikleia. Programme: 07:00 coach departure from Vari (INTERSPORT, departure point; further pick-up points in Voula, Glyfada, along Poseidonos and Syngrou avenues, Syntagma, Omonia and others, as listed on the organizer's page); 10:30 arrival in Amfikleia; 11:00–15:00 hike; 15:00–18:00 meal at a local tavern and free time in Amfikleia, with optional visits to the Bread Museum and the Museum of Trades; 18:00 departure, estimated arrival in Athens 21:00. Times are indicative and the leader may change the programme for objective reasons (weather, road conditions). Included: coach transport, experienced guides, insurance and organisation, all taxes; not included: meals, personal expenses, entrance fees, equipment, anything not in the programme. The fee is €30 for members of the Taxideftes Club; families can ask for an offer. Payment must accompany the registration form, by bank deposit, IRIS or card through Eurobank live pay (card payments +2%). Cancellation by the participant (day trips) more than 5 days before: the money can be used by the same person for another outing within 6 months; less than 4 days before: the money is lost; no loss if you find a replacement.
