Held on the day of the Fish Festival (Γιορτή του Ψαριού) in Aitoliko, the 'Little Venice of Greece', a town on an islet in the middle of the lagoon linked to the mainland by two stone arched bridges. Start and finish on the West Side of Aitoliko. Non-profit event; the race was created by Makis Sarantaras. The 23km is the race for the saving of the Aitoliko Lagoon, a creation of the Athletic and Cultural Association of Runners of Aitoliko, back after several years. Age categories: 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. Medal to all finishers; cups to the winners of each age category. Water and refreshment stations at intervals along the whole course. Limited registrations will be accepted before the race. Commemorative T-shirts will be on sale at the venue.
