Day trip to Kastanitsa (840 m), one of the most picturesque villages of Parnon, for its Chestnut Festival. Optional easy circular hike of about 5 km and 2 hours with about 200 m of climbing, through autumn forest of chestnut, fir and cedar. Those who skip the hike have free time in the village. At the festival, chestnut dishes such as pork with chestnuts, chickpeas with chestnuts, «married» bean soup, hot xinotrachanas, oinomelo, tsipouro and chestnut desserts, with music and dancing. Coach from the Agios Antonios metro station in Peristeri at 06:00, back around 21:00.
