Sunday 1 November: a downhill hike through the Agali Gorge on Dirfys, Evia, followed by an organised meal and free time in Steni Dirfyos. The route is point to point: it starts at the Agali Refuge (930 m), with open views towards Dirfys and the Euboean Gulf, and descends steadily into the gorge, past the Kratia spring (730 m) with its giant plane tree (rest stop), through Cephalonian fir and pine forest and then old plane trees, over metal footbridges and between rock formations; the last section passes where the gorge narrows between the cliffs and exits near the village of Agios Athanasios, where the hike ends. Organizer figures: 6.5 km, +140 m / −700 m, grade Α, 3:00 h net walking (3:50 h with stops). Afterwards the coach takes the group to Steni Dirfyos for a meal together at a local tavern, then free time for a walk, coffee or traditional sweet by the stream. Suitable for anyone looking for a pleasant mountain hike, as the elevation difference is negative (descent from the refuge); hiking boots and hiking poles are required.
