Sunday day trip from Athens to Mount Knimida in Phthiotis: a circular hike from the village of Karya up to Elati, the highest peak of Knimida (945 m), through forest tracks and paths; much of the route is unmarked, so navigation is part of the experience. About 9.8 km, +446 m, about 3h50 in total, grade easy-moderate. Afterwards the group heads to the Kouniavitis hot springs near Kamena Vourla to relax (bring a towel and swimsuit); food in Kamena Vourla (not included). Departures from Athens: Rouf 07:00 (corner of Amfipoleos and Konstantinoupoleos, opposite the suburban railway), Elaionas 07:15 (on Iera Odos), Kifisia 07:30 (Ilision St, opposite Karras parquet); back in Athens around 21:00. €40 per person; €20 deposit after booking, paid at the club office (13 Agias Theklas St, Psyrri) or by bank transfer; places are given in order of booking until full.
