Circular route from the historic Alonistaina square (1,220m) on waymarked Mainalo trails, largely under Greek fir forest: Koutoupia – Pilalistra – Fournakia pass – Skafides gorge – Gramboua cistern – Roeino (1,100m) – Skylochorto pass – Omorfostalos – Ano Kardaras (1,030m) – Xerakia pass (1,450m) on the ancient path mentioned by Pausanias – Alonistaina. For reference, the 2026 edition had an 18+ age limit, a 150-runner cap, an intermediate cutoff at km 18 (Prophet Elias, Ano Kardaras) at 3.5 hours, a 6-hour time limit and an entry fee of €25.
